What you need
- Shallow plate or dish
- Full-fat milk
- Food colouring (several colours)
- Dish soap
- Cotton bud
Setup
- Pour milk into a shallow plate, just enough to cover the bottom
- Add a few drops of different food colours around the plate
- Dip a cotton bud in dish soap and touch it to the centre

- Can you make it happen again in a different spot?
- Why do you think the colours move like that?
Ways to change it up
- Try it with skim milk vs. full-fat milk and compare
- Use a paintbrush instead of a cotton bud
