What you need
- Lemon juice
- A cotton bud or thin paintbrush
- White paper
- A lamp or a warm iron (adult-operated)
Setup
- Dip a cotton bud in lemon juice and write or draw on plain paper
- Let it dry completely until invisible
- An adult holds the paper near a warm lamp or gently irons it to reveal the message
Play prompts
- What do you think happens to lemon juice when it gets warm?
- Can you guess a friend or sibling's secret message before it fully appears?
- What else could you write next as a spy message?
Ways to change it up
- Try milk or baking soda solution instead of lemon juice and compare
- Turn it into a treasure-hunt clue written in invisible ink
Safety notes
- Heat source must be handled by an adult, never let a child near an iron or open flame
