What you need
- Chalk
- A small stone or bean bag
Setup
- Draw a numbered hopscotch grid
- Toss the stone onto a number
- Hop through, skipping that square
Play prompts
- What number did you land on?
- Can you add two numbers as you hop?
- Can you hop it backwards too?
Ways to change it up
- Use simple maths questions for older kids at each square
- Make the grid bigger for a running version
Safety notes
- Draw the grid somewhere flat and free of traffic
